Fuel surcharge policy for cross channel ferries

As you may be aware the price of fuel oil has changed in recent months.

As a result, Norfolkline will change the fuel surcharge for passenger vehicles per single leg from £5.50/€6.00 per vehicle to £6.00/€7.00 per vehicle as of 1 December 2010.

Norfolkline undertakes a monthly review of the fuel surcharge based on the previous month’s oil prices and exchange rates and this will be published on www.norfolkline.com to ensure all our customers are fully informed of the appropriate fuel surcharge at the earliest opportunity.

It is impossible to predict future fuel surcharges as they are dependent upon the fuel costs and fluctuating exchange rates.

The fuel surcharge is applied at time of booking rather than at the time of travel. This is to avoid the inconvenience that customers would have to settle the incremental fuel surcharge on the day of travel if the fuel surcharge has increased (or receive a refund if the fuel surcharge has decreased).
